Småkraft AS has once again secured its position as a Sector Leader in GRESB’s annual ESG-assessment. Scoring 98 out of 100 and earning 5 out of 5 stars, Småkraft stands as the leading sustainable global hydroelectric power producer among its peers. It ranks among the top ten percent of all infrastructure companies worldwide.
“Småkraft generates renewable energy and long-term value in harmony with the environment and local communities. We strive to continuously improve our sustainability performance and reporting and are therefore proud to once again rank top of our sector in a global benchmark”, said Terje Vedeler, CEO of Småkraft.
Sustainability is a key driver for long-term investors, and new reporting requirements make it easier to compare and evaluate environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and performance. Småkraft entered the GRESB assessment in 2017 and has been ranked Sector Leader among hydroelectric power producers each year since 2020. This year, Småkraft scored 98 out of 100 points in total, including 60 out of 60 points in sustainability performance.
The annual Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessments are guided by what investors and the industry consider to be material issues in the sustainability performance of asset investments and are aligned with international reporting frameworks, goals and emerging regulations. This year’s GRESB ESG Benchmark covers more than USD 8.8 trillion of gross asset value in total, and 687 infrastructure assets.
