NGKU took over the project in the summer of 2016 and the license expired in January 2017. For this reason, NGKU had to work intensively on the project leading up to the investment decision and construction. The project was redesigned, and solutions were discussed with suppliers, consultants and NTE. An investment decision was made just before Christmas in 2016, and the project is now in the construction phase.
Grytendal is located in a valley that can only be accessed by boat unless you want to walk. The existing dock and roads in Kolsvik will be used. All materials and deliveries to the plant will be transported by boat into Tosenfjorden. The plant has been put into operation, while the final land consolidation and some remaining work will be completed in 2019.
