Jordal Sunndal power plant

The power plant is located in Jordalsgrend in Sunndal municipality, in the county of Møre og Romsdal. The plant was built by Norsk Grønnkraft AS in 2005 and is currently owned and operated by Småkraft.

The Jordal power plant is located downstream from the Ryssdal power plant and makes use of water released from this plant. This was done by creating a dam just past the Ryssdal power plant. As you can see in the photo to the right, there is also a car bridge over the river in connection with the dam. The power plants designed by architects at Georg Øye Arktitekkontor, has a technical and architectural solution that is adapted to the environment. The design has received a great deal of positive feedback.
